Senior Technical Project Lead
We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Lead who will lead complex full-cycle software development projects from inception to completion and own strategic client relationships. In our agency setup, this hybrid role combines account ownership/portfolio management, both commercial and strategic, with hands-on project delivery leadership. This role also offers a clear growth trajectory into broader team leadership and people management responsibilities.

What you will be doing
- End-to-end software development project ownership: Take complete ownership over complex full-cycle software development projects from discovery to final delivery.
- Cross-functional work & Team Enablement: Drive execution in close collaboration with a cross-functional Project Delivery team of frontend and backend engineers and designers. Actively contribute to fostering a high-performing environment and empowering team members.
- Account management: Own client account P&L, strategically managing a portfolio of ongoing software development projects , ensuring their alignment with broader business goals and maximizing cumulative value. This includes forecasting, pricing, revenue recognition, and invoicing with Finance/Legal; as well as identifying, prioritizing, and driving upsell/expansion opportunities by shaping tailored solutions, building proposals, and drafting SOWs for your existing accounts.
- Stakeholder Management: Advise senior executives, track value/outcomes, and manage critical escalations, and lead client workshops to drive discovery, alignment, and solution definition.
- Delivery and governance: Manage requirements engineering, scope, roadmap, quality, and risk; plan staffing and coordinate internal/partner teams.
- Hands-on product ownership: Ensure high-quality discovery, roadmaps, backlogs, and acceptance criteria; focus on documentation and enable team success through clear guidance and resources. This includes actively mentoring and guiding team members to elevate overall team capabilities.
We need you to have
Must-Have’s
- 5+ years of experience delivering and/or leading complex software development projects, predominantly gained within an agency, professional services, or consulting environment. Critically, at least 2 of these years must specifically involve account and commercial ownership within such a setting.
- Proven P&L ownership: budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, invoicing, and change control.
- Proficient in project scoping, estimation, and pricing strategies, including drafting and negotiating SOWs for time-and-materials, fixed price, and retainer models.
- Confident stakeholder and escalation management up to C-level with clear, bilingual communication (German/English).
- Solid understanding of modern software delivery (agile/hybrid, SDLC, cloud/SaaS, APIs/integrations) and common web platforms (ecommerce/CMS).
- Strong analytical and commercial skills: margin focus, scenario planning, and risk/revenue management (incl. T&M revenue risks).
- Experience with resource planning/staffing and cross-team coordination, and a demonstrated aptitude and interest in team development and mentorship.
- Completed university degree in business informatics, business administration, or equivalent experience.
Selected Nice-to-Have’s
- Certifications: PMP/PMI/PRINCE2; PSM/PSPO/SAFe; ITIL.
- Ability to consult and train clients in the use of advanced applications and complex systems, ensuring optimal implementation and value realisation.
- Experience with MarTech/CRO/Analytics and AI-powered solutions; knowledge of data protection/GDPR.
- Practice coordinating vendors/partners on the client side.
